Walker, John Henry
John Henry Walker immigrated to Canada in 1842 along with his family from Antrim County, in what is now Northern Ireland. In 1845, his mother apprenticed him to the engraver Cyrus A. Swett, with whom he worked until 1848. He learned to be both a copper and wood engraver.
Walker illustrated numerous sales catalogues, books, government reports, advertisements and magazines like The Canadian Illustrated News, L'Opinion Publique and Le Monde Illustré.
