Maurice-Régis Blondeau (1734-1809) was an important fur trader and militia officer who became a prominent member of Montreal's bourgeoisie. This page from his account book covers his activities from 1771 to 1789. There are very few books of this type in existence, and the accounts of many famous fur traders, such as Jean-Baptiste Cadot and James McGill, are recorded in this ledger. Researchers have used the book to compile a detailed list of trade goods used during this period.
